Have been searching for a nice 42" LCD 1080 and ran across this one. Compared to the competition LG seems to more than hold it's own, plus the price point is excellent. Other reviews share the good points so I won't go into them only to mention that I found this to be the best 'bang for the buck' in 1080 LCD 42" TV. While LG is not yet considered a major brand in America, I purchased many LG products when I lived in Thailand in 2005.

I found them to be excellent products then and still do now. Overseas LG sells all sorts of products. One could almost say it's the GE of Asia - except LG TV's are superior to any GE product - by a huge margin.

I also have a 50" Panasonic Plasma that I purchased a couple years ago when that model was rated #1 by Consumer Reports. This LG has a superior picture and is perfect for what I need it for.

If you buy one - you'll be happy.

for the price this blu ray player gives you every thing you need. from bd live to a quick pick up from where you left off in the movie this is a quality buy. The remote is easy to use. the player has a sleek look and design, i have also found it gives me much better dvd upconverting than the previous samsung blu ray player i owned which would give me some funtion issues on certain blu ray discs also. not so with this toshiba. thumbs up !

I love this tv.
This is my first lcd tv.
I switched from a 32 inch old tube tv to this.
I bought this because I have Netflix and wanted to watch the movies instantly.
The Netflix feature is so easy to use and works great.
Just hook up the ethernet cable to the tv and you are ready to go.
The picture quality is fantastic for both Netflix movies and for regular tv viewing.
I am no audio expert, but the sound from the speakers are more than adequate.
When you consider that this tv cost only a little more than a tv without internet connectivity, this is a wonderful bargain.

Best Sumsung LCD Hdtv

I've never ordered anything this large and expensive online before so I was nervous about my purchase. In the end everything turned out perfect, The TV arrived without any scratches, no dead pixels, or other defects. The "Pilot" delivery service sent 2 guys who were nice and set up the TV for me and made sure it worked.

About the TV: No complaints. The TV is everything it says it is in the above description so it's all I expected it to be.

My only wish is that there was a headphone jack on this TV but there isn't.

Little warning about what to expect with a 1080p HDTV. Before I did some research I assumed that everything I watched on this TV would be a big improvement over my previous 720p HDTV but I was wrong. The only things that are improvements over a 720p is 1080p content which is pretty much just blu-ray movies. Cable TV, Playstation 3 videogames, Xbox 360 videogames, are all 720p. And content that is native 720p looks best on a 720p tv. So I did notice that cable and video games looked slightly better on my previous 720p tv but Blu-ray movies looked best on this 1080p TV.

Over all I am very satisfied with my purchase and recommend this TV.

This tv was purchased at Sam's Club for about 9. (I try to make most of my purchases through Amazon but I'm not keen on having a tv shipped.) Did not have time to search reviews as it was a surprise xmas gift from mom. I knew we wanted a 42" LCD with 1080p, 120Hz display. From all the tv's fitting this on display the Philips looked the best in store.

I planned on spending a couple hours setting it up but was happily surprised to have had it from box to watching in about an hour.

We are very happy with everything about this TV.

Our neighbor bought a 42" LG a few months before us and paid closer to a grand. Not sure what his settings are but ours has a much clearer and brighter pic.

My cousin got a 50" Sony Bravia a week before us and except that his tv is bigger we can see no difference in picture quality.
